Sponsorship & Exhibitor Opportunities

With the 2018 NAEO annual conference less than a month away, the Conference Committee is moving full steam ahead, engaging existing sponsors and finding and securing new sponsorship opportunities. We’ve received feedback both from NAEO members (through the post-conference survey) and from sponsors directly, and are working hard to meet the goals of elevating the NAEO conference for our attendees and sponsors.

After an immensely successful conference in 2017, we certainly have our work ahead to make 2018 even better!

View Opportunities

One of our newest additions revolves around the First Timers Game during opening reception. A new community-level sponsorship allows a sponsor to participate in the First Timers game! Great for an industry veteran who wants to facilitate discussion with the conference newcomers, or brands that want to promote a specific narrative around their company or product.

We’ve also heard the feedback from NAEO members who attended conference in 2017: Sponsors were great, but we want even more! As such, we’re in talks with vendors who provide employee scheduling software, headsets, office aesthetics, VoIP services, and more!

If you love a brand or company and think they would be a good fit for the NAEO membership, please recommend them to the Conference Committee! You can contact Evelyn Portinari or Patrick Labbett directly.

Keynote: Build a Kick-Ass Company

We all want to be part of companies that matter, ones that are more than just a place where work gets done, but instead leave a lasting legacy. We call these Kick-Ass companies because they know their true purpose, have leaders that people follow because they believe in them, and teams that say ‘yes’ even before they know what their leaders need from them.

Building a Kick-Ass company isn’t for the faint of heart. It requires hard work, commitment and dedication — along with the ability to look deep within, be uncomfortable and answer the tough questions.

To build a Kick-Ass company, you must achieve three objectives: Find Your Mojo, Build Legendary Leaders, and Create Hell Yeah teams. Whether you are a leader or an employee, through nurturing and building on core company beliefs, everyone plays a role in the success of the company. Giving teams the tools and knowledge they need to be awesome creates engaged employees who want to ‘give’ to the company.

Join us on February 26, 2018, for this exciting and energizing presentation. Keynote speaker Gary Gzik will walk you through the key components of building a Kick-Ass company and the steps needed to unlock the power in yours. You will go home with a new perspective on how to build your company from within!

Customize Reports in IS Supervisor with Crystal Reports

by David Drenk
All rights reserved © January 2016

All of the reports provided with Intelligent Series (IS) Supervisor can be edited with Crystal Reports 2008 to create customized reports that best fit the needs of your business and your clients. In this article, we demonstrate how to add a day of week filter to a report.

Crystal Reports must be installed locally on the workstation used to customize reports, but is not required on the workstations used to run the reports.

To create a customized report, open IS Supervisor on a workstation that is loaded with Crystal Reports 2008.
Click the Reporting icon on the IS Supervisor toolbar.
The Reporting window is displayed.

Use the Reports Navigation Menu to select the report that you want to edit. Click the Edit icon.
The report file stored on the IS Server is opened in the Crystal Reports application on your local workstation.

Use Crystal Reports to edit the report.

In this example, we add a filter to run a report for a specific day of the week. These instructions create a parameter of check boxes for each day of the week. The report data will be filtered to include data only for the selected days, or for all days if the “none” check box is selected.

  1. Right-click the Parameters node in the Field Explorer pane.
    The shortcut menu is displayed.
  2. Click “New...”
The Create New Parameter window is displayed. Amtelco
  3. Name the parameter. In this example, we chose the name DaysFilter.
  4. Set the Type to “Number.”
  5. Add values for each day of the week, and a value of 0 for “none.”
  6. In the Value Options, set PromptText to the prompt you want to display for the parameter.
  7. Set Default Value to 0 (zero).
  8. Set Allow Custom Values to False.
  9. Set Allow Multiple Values to True.
  10. Click the OK button to save the new parameter.
The parameter is displayed beneath the Parameter Fields node.
Once the parameter has been created, the parameter can be added to the Record Selection formula.
  11. Open the Report menu and select the Formula Workshop command.
The Formula Workshop windows is displayed.
  12. Click the Expand icon next to the Selection Formulas folder to expand it.
  13. Click Record Selection.
The Record Selection formula is displayed.
  14. Add the following code to the Record Selection formula:
    iif ({?DaysFilter} <> 0, DayOfWeek ({@DateTime}) in {?DaysFilter}, true) and
Replace DaysFilter with the name of the parameter chosen in step 3.

The “and" at the end of this code segment is required only if there already are other selection criteria in the Report Selection formula. Exclude the “and” if you are editing a report that does not contain selection criteria.
  15. Click "Save and Close" to save your changes to the formula and close the Formula Workshop window.

When you are finished editing the report, open the File menu and click the Save As command.
The Save As window appears.

Browse to the location where you want to save the report file.
Remember this location so that you can edit the report further or import the report into IS Reporting.

File Name:

Type the name that you want to assign the report file.
Make the name descriptive so that you can find it when you want to import the file.

Save as type:

The file type should be Crystal Reports.
Click the Save button to save the report file.
To close Crystal Reports, open the File menu and click the Exit command.

Importing Reports

Customized reports can be imported into Intelligent Series Reporting so that they can be run on workstations that do not have Crystal Reports installed or can be scheduled using the IS System Schedule.

To import a report, click the Add (+) icon in the Reports Toolbar.
The Select Report to Import (Add to List) window is displayed.

Browse to the folder that contains the RPT file that you want to import.

Click the file name and then click the Open button.
The New Report Name window appears.

Type the name that you want to use to list the report in the Reports Navigation Menu.
Choose a name that indicates the purpose of the report to all of the people who use IS Reporting.

Click the OK button.
The report appears in the Reports Navigation Menu under the Custom Reports category.

To expand the Custom Reports category, click the Expand (+) icon next to “Custom Reports.”

A yellow circle icon indicates the Data Source Name (DSN) password has not been entered in the report settings.

Select the custom report.

The DSN settings are displayed.

Report DSNs

Click the Report DSNs menu and select the appropriate DSN.

Enter the password used to connect to the DSN. If there is no password, leave this field blank.
When you have finished editing the DSN settings, click the “Save DSN” button.

If you entered the DSN password correctly, the color of the status icon changes to green.
The custom report is now ready to be run on demand or be scheduled, just like the standard reports provided in IS Supervisor.

The new parameter appears in the Parameters pane as a list of check boxes. Select one or more days of the week to filter the report data by those days, or select “none” to include all days of the week.
